legalising drugs?

in legalizing drugs it does make them safer because their are loads of drugs being homemade and being mixed with deadly chemicals. but people worry about drug related crime rates to increase like driving under the influence. but some drugs are less toxic then alcohol and there is a lot of people that take alcohol more then drugs, legalising it wont change people minds. isn't it bad not to give people te right to have a mind-altering experience under controlled settings, what ever happened to its a free country? the bad thing in this world is how much controls us!
